In 1956, P. Venkata Subbaiah Setty founded Sri Srinivasa Agarbathi Company in Chintamani, near Bengaluru — driven by a devotion to traditional incense craftsmanship. A year later, his elder son P.V. Jayaramaiah Gupta relocated the business to Bengaluru and transformed it into Balaji Agarbathi Company, expanding its expertise and reach across India.
From this foundation, Orkay Fragrance was born as a sister concern, introducing the iconic Snake Brand trademark — now recognised globally as a symbol of quality, authenticity, and fragrance mastery
