Our Legacy
Founded in 1956 by P. Venkata Subbaiah Setty in Chintamani near Bengaluru, the business began under the name Sri Srinivasa Agarbathi Company, rooted in traditional incense craftsmanship and devotion. In 1957, under the leadership of his elder son, P.V. Jayaramaiah Gupta, the company relocated to Bengaluru and evolved into Balaji Agarbathi Company, expanding its expertise and reach.
As the legacy grew, Orkay Fragrance was established as a sister concern of Balaji Agarbathi Company, introducing the iconic Snake Brand trademark — a symbol of quality, authenticity, and fragrance expertise that continues to be recognised globally.
Today, the legacy continues under the leadership of P.J. Ravi Kumar and P.R. Shruthi, who carry forward the brand’s traditional values while guiding its modern growth and global presence.
